Founded in 2001 NUR SHAH has grown into one of Kazakhstan’s distinctive fashion houses, renowned for its sophisticated interpretation of national heritage through contemporary fashion.
For more than two decades, Nurzhamal Nurpeisova has dedicated her creative work to preserving and reinventing the cultural codes of Kazakhstan. Her designs transform traditional ornaments, embroidery, silhouettes and artisanal techniques into refined contemporary garments, creating a distinctive visual language that is both deeply rooted in heritage and relevant to the international fashion scene.
At the heart of NUR SHAH is a philosophy of cultural identity, craftsmanship and timeless elegance. Each creation reflects the designer’s desire to tell a story — a story of Kazakhstan, its traditions, its women and its rich artistic heritage — while speaking to a modern, sophisticated audience.
The House is particularly recognised for its meticulous craftsmanship and elaborate hand embroidery. Traditional Kazakh motifs are reinterpreted with a contemporary sensibility, often combined with luxurious fabrics, intricate detailing and couture-inspired silhouettes.
Under the creative direction of Nurjamal Nurpeisova, NUR SHAH has progressively established a presence beyond Kazakhstan, presenting its collections to international audiences and bringing the aesthetics of Kazakh fashion to the global stage.
In 2024 its participation during Paris Haute Couture Week marked an important chapter in this international journey, highlighting the growing dialogue between Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage and the world of French and international fashion.
