We are delighted to announce the participation of Maison Rafael Urquizar at Paris Fashion Days, taking place on October 02, 2026 at the Hôtel Le Marois.
«At Maison Rafael Urquizar, couture is born from the meeting of architecture, craftsmanship and emotion. Every creation transforms memory into modernity, where savoir-faire becomes culture, time becomes luxury and elegance becomes a timeless expression of identity.»
For more than four decades, Maison Rafael Urquizar has developed a distinctive vision of couture in which artisanal excellence, architectural precision and contemporary elegance coexist in perfect harmony.
Educated in Paris at ESMOD International Fashion Group, Rafael Urquizar has built a unique creative language based on technical mastery, pattern cutting and the savoir-faire of the atelier. Since the early 1990s, the Maison has presented its collections within the official calendars of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid and Atelier Couture, establishing a recognizable identity defined by the purity of its lines, the quality of its craftsmanship and a vision of fashion that transcends trends.

The creative universe of Maison Rafael Urquizar is distinguished by architectural silhouettes, impeccable construction and understated elegance. Body, light, volume and material engage in a continuous dialogue, while cultural, artistic and architectural references are reinterpreted through a contemporary, refined and restrained language.

MALAKA is a return to origin in order to imagine the future.
Inspired by the ancient Phoenician name of Málaga, the collection is born from a city whose identity has been shaped by the Mediterranean Sea and by the civilizations that arrived upon its shores. More than a tribute to a place, MALAKA celebrates the dialogue between memory and modernity, transforming history into a contemporary language of couture.
The collection evokes the shimmer of the sea, the texture of salt, the geometry of Nasrid ceramics, the serenity of Mediterranean architecture and the unmistakable light of southern Spain. None of these references appear literally; instead, they are transformed into atmosphere, proportion and movement.

The silhouettes alternate sculptural constructions with fluid lines, creating an architectural vision of femininity in which strength and lightness coexist naturally.
From this light emerges gold, one of the defining signatures of MALAKA. Present in jewellery, accessories, embroidery and finishing details, gold transcends ornamentation to become a symbol.
MALAKA is not a nostalgic collection. It is the contemporary expression of a Mediterranean identity shaped through centuries of cultural exchange.
A place where the sea unites civilizations.
Where architecture becomes silhouette.
Where light becomes matter.
Where gold becomes identity.
And where couture becomes a universal language.
Through MALAKA, Maison Rafael Urquizar brings Málaga to Paris not only as a place of origin, but as a universal vision of Mediterranean culture, artisanal excellence and contemporary luxury.
«MALAKA transforms the memory of the Mediterranean into a contemporary language of couture, where the sea unites civilizations, architecture becomes silhouette, light becomes matter and gold becomes identity.»
